Are there any tournaments on carnival cruises?

Im oging on the Carnival Elation in June, and my dad, and my friends wanted to know if there are any tournaments, because when we went on Carnival Valor, they had a volleyball one, and yea, were all good at sports, we WANT THOSE CARNIVAL MEDALS!!!! lol

oh, well is there any place where i can see a schedule of any events before hand?

Answer :
There probably will be. Last time I was on Elation, they had a "red vs. Blue" team thing based on stateroom number, and there were different contests that could win points for your team, including tournaments.

Answer :
The Carnival Elation is 855 feet long and holds 2,052 passengers and 920 crew members. It weighs 70,367 tons.

The Carnival Pride is 963 feet song and holds 2,124 passengers and 930 crew members. It weighs 88,500 tons.

* Anyone answers all the questions will earn 10 Points
** Is theirs a tie i will read both and see with one has the most examples!
*** Good Luck

Answer :
I have sailed on the Elation and had a great time. However, I will not be on your particular cruise. I have noted one reference to a cabin 299, and you can read the comments at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthrea…

Please don't worry or pre-judge your trip based upon another person's experience. Most of the time, if you want to have a good time, you will. If you participate in the activities and have a good time, believe me, you will sleep just fine! I always pick interior rooms and save my money to spend on other things!

The link you provided was for Riviera Deck, however I believe that "E" deck will be Empress Deck. I don't find a "E299" but I do find an E29" which is a cabin that has two upper berths, which means you could sleep up to 4 in the cabin. Does that sound like your reservation?

I have one photo of a cabin with two upper berths which you can view at: http://www.bajagay.com/what-if-itʹs-only…

The sushi bar was open most nights before dinner, and is located on the Promenade deck: http://www.carnival.com/Deck_Plan.aspx?s… There is generally a line, so plan accordingly, make friends with the guys who serve you at the sushi bar, and tip.

As far as how much to bring with you to spend, please be aware that an adult will have to provide a credit card before boarding. Every passenger will be issued a "Sign and Sail" card, which is your ship-board ID. For anything you need to purchase, you do not give cash, you just show your Sign and Sail card, and all the charges are put on the credit card originally posted. Carnival adds $10 per person per day to the bill for tips, but additional cash is used to provide the crew and staff extra tips for extra service. If you have a good time, please tip.

The only things you will need to pay additional for are sodas or items at the different shops on the ship. I presume the adult will authorize things like photos or shore excursions. If your adults will approve, you can purchase a "Soda Card" for a set price per day... I think about $6 to $9 per day... for unlimited sodas, which you get from a server or at a bar. Again, you don't use cash... only the card. If you plan on drinking more than 3-4 sodas per day it will be worth it. All the iced tea, lemonade, coffee, etc., is available 24/7 for free. Room service, the pizza station, and self-serve ice cream are open 24/7 as well. Frankly, I don't think you need much money at all... virtually everything is provided for you as part of your fare. The only place you can use cash anyway is during your shore excursions... I believe you will be stopping in Cabo, Ensenada, or Catalina? Perhaps you may want to purchase some gifts while on shore. There will be plenty of places to spend money on things or activities while on shore... but only if you think it is necessary. I went for an authentic Mexican seafood lunch while in Cabo... away from the other tourists!

Yes, you will be required to wear the wrist bands which will identify you and which life-boat station you belong to any staff during any potential emergency. It's no biggie... just wear it and enjoy.

By the way... we are supposed to answer the questions without promise of points... but thanks for thinking of us!

Enjoy your cruise! I had a great time on the Elation!

~K

Great Response!!! Can I have you Email Because You ask what deck of cabin.
Please Email Me to : usachrisart@yahoo.com
or you can email me. My cabin is in the Empress Deck next to the elevators.
Thanks =)

Answer :
No really your room in right by the hall way thats a good thing,
I'm afriad im not going on that cruise
The Sushi bar always changes deck per ship so i am not sure
You don't need a ristband and only bring 200$ extra money
3 Night cruises are okay if you like short cruises i prefer 7-10 days

Answer :
You won't hear elevator noise but maybe the people laughing/talking as they head to their rooms.
Not going on the cruise but there will be plently of opportunities to eet other kids...just show up at the different games.
Not sure where the sushi bar is (I was on the ship but don't like sushi). You can go to carnival and get the deck plan online. See link below.

The drill includes putting on a life vest...never heard of anyone wearing anything on their hand but we were traveling with 15 yr olds.
Any cruise is fun.

For parents of small children! Going on our first carnival cruise in march, any suggestions or tips?

It will be me, husband and our 4 year old! We will be going on the Carnival Elation, 5 day cruise from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas for 2 days. Couple questions...

1. Is Carnival Elation nice/child friendly?
2. Has anyone tried the Camp Carnival for kids? What kind of activities
do they do...are they safe and trustworthy?
3. Shore excursions! ...What kind of things did your young child enjoy?
Something that will hold their attention, and be fun. Nothing too dangerous.

Your tips and information is appreciated.

Answer :
All the ships are fine for children.
I suggest you enroll the child in the Camp Carnival so you can enjoy the cruise while the 4 year old enjoys it even more. The activities are varied and trustworthy.
Shore excursions for a 4 year old? I say not to do it.. The places are touristed out and the ship is great when all the others go ashore. The beach in Cabo is fine but the ship's pool is better. Enjoy!

Answer :
I hve only been on the Conquest - we cruised last week with 2 kids. Our ship was very kid friendly. Camp Carnival and Club O2 were great. They gave us a fold out brochure on the first day with all the activities - dates and times listed- kind of like the Carnival Capers which the adults get in their rooms every night. They were ( in our opinion ) totally safe. Shore excursions - we did golf one day, snorkeling one day, and the beach another. ( Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel). All were enjoyable days, be prepared for the kids to crash once you get back on the ship on shore excursion days ! We all had a fun, relaxing time and are planning to take another cruise before the year is out.

Answer :
Carnival ships are kid friendly but the overall quality of the ships are not up to most other cruise ships. Our biggest disappointment was the food, about 2 stars for that. The ship also seemed much more crowded than a previous cruise on Celebrity.

On the cruise elation, what kind of activities are there for teens 13-up?

I am about to go on the Carnival Elation ship in a few weeks so i would like to know what kind activities they provide for you.

Answer :
I'm going on the Elation in less than 2 weeks!
I learned that they have 2 separate teen clubs: Circle C for 12-14 yo and Club O2 for 15-17 yo. They basically have activities for you and you can meet people your own age.
Of course there's a pool and hot tub, waterslide, mini golf, and tons more! Check out http://www.carnival.com/onboardexp_home.…
Hope I helped and have fun!!!!

Answer :
Im sure there will be plenty of activities and clubs for your teens to attend. check your cruise liner website, there should be plenty of links to your ship, so you can check it out for yourself.

Carnival elation vs Carnival Legend??Which is better?

we are going on one which is better....... like which is nicer not so worn etc

Answer :
The only time I ever sent a complaint letter to a cruise line was when I sailed on the Elation. Unless they have completely refurbished that vessel in the last three years I would avoid it. Shabby, shabby, shabby. And bad ports of call.

Answer :
Definitely, Carnival Legend as its only a few years old. Carnival Elation is nearly 20 years old! It has a lot of wear and tear. Plus, the Legend is almost twice the size. It has far more options in terms of dining, entertainment, etc. In this case bigger is better! Go with the Carnival Legend without doubt!

Answer :
This is an easy one. Go with the Legend. Newer, larger and more amenities.

Hope I helped!

Carnival Elation fitness center age limit?

How old do you have to be to go into the fitness center and work out? Can a parent go with you if your under the age limit?

Answer :
The minimum age for the spa and gym is 16.

Some ships have Mom/Daughter spa events but I have never heard of anything for the gym.

Check with the gym manager...some are more flexible than others.

Circle C teen club on carnival elation?

what is the circle c club like?

Answer :
I haven't been to Circle C, but I went to the other teen club, which is basically the same but for 15-17 year olds.

The teen clubs are really cool. They look really modern and totally age appropriate. It's not so much of a club as it is a hangout for teens. At night, they do have dances and parties, but during the day it's just a really cool place to hang out with your new friends.

I thought they were great. There's video games, board games, movies, music, parties, contests, etc. The best part is, you meet a lot of fun people your own age!

There's also a club director that makes sure you have fun and don't get into too much trouble, but they don't baby-sit you. They just hang out with you and try not to let you get bored.

Have fun on your cruise!
You can email me through my profile page =)

Answer :
Welcome to Circle "C" where kids 12-14 can connect with friends or simply chill. All activities, events and parties are supervised and were created just for this age group. They'll mix and mingle, laugh and giggle and rave about all the fun they're having. You'll know they've discovered Circle "C."

ACTIVITIES
Circle "C" activities:
»Latest Game Consoles
»Board & Card Games
»Trivia & Scavenger Hunts
»Music Hangs
»Dance Parties
»Lido Deck Activities
»Sports

»Pool Parties

Circle "C"The ultimate spot where children ages 12-14 can cruise, chill, and connect to others. Cool activities, awesome facilities and lots of great new friends to add to their text-mail lists. The activities (think games, dance parties, outdoor movies and more) are supervised and created just for them.

The friendly and experienced staff at Circle "C" wants to give your teens the best vacation experience possible. All activities are coordinated by a Circle "C" Director and dedicated to keeping the activities fun for our young guests.

My kid loves Circle C!!

Hope i helped!

Does Carnival Elation have shuffle board?? What are the activities onboard??

Does Carnival Elation have shuffle board?? What are the activities onboard??

Answer :
I was on the Elation last year and to tell you the truth I don't know, I never saw any but I did not go up on the deck areas where you would probably find it. (Top decks where the jogging track is) Of course the real reason I didn't was because there is so much more to do. On the Lido deck they will have live music as well as a variety of contests and activities, they also have basketball tournaments, trivia contests, various gambling tournaments, Vegas style shows, comedians, bars with live music and karaoke, as well as pools, hot tubs, and the spa for just lounging around. And of course there is always the food. 24/7 from buffet to five star restaurants and the best part is the food is included. I am sure you will find plenty to do even if there is no shuffleboard.

Answer :
go on to carnival.com and chose your ship. it should tell you ever thing you want to know about your boat and the activities

Answer :
I really don't know. But I wish someone would answer because that would be key information.

Anyone been to the 5 Day Carnival Elation cruise to Cabo San Lucas?

I am planning on booking a 5 day cruise trip with my family (there are 3 adults and 2 little kids). This is the first time my family will be cruising and I would love to get some information -
1. Is the Carnival Elation ship clean and beautiful? I heard it had been through some remodelling but not certain.
2. How is the food? I heard we have to pay for drinks, even Soda. Can we carry food stuff with us?
3 We are contemplating between either taking 2 Oceanview cabins or one Suite that sleeps 5.
4. When booking the rooms, is there anything I should keep in mind. As to location in the ship - Center/or to the end, close to any specific area, any specific floor.
5. There is an option between 2 different cruises - one of them goes for a day in Ensenada and a day in cabo. While the other goes straight for 2 days in Cabo. Any suggestions on what is better?
6. Any other tips?

Your input is much appreciated.

Answer :
I have been on two Carnival Elation cruises these past couple years and i am actually going on my third one in a few days(:

1. It is a great ship. It is very clean and tidy, there are plenty of people to help keep it looking clean and fresh all day long.
2. The food is amazing. There is a buffet for breakfast and lunch which has just about any food imaginable. There is also a sushi bar open in the evenings which serves excellent sushi. For dinner you have the cohoice of going to the restaurant. It is a very nice sit down restaurant which obviously costs nothing since you have paid for everything in advance. There are always new interesting things on the menu and they serve you a great three course meal. You don't have to pay for drinks except soda. If you really can't live without soda for a few days then I suggest you purchase a fountain card which allows you to get unlimited soda. But from my experience it isn't really necessary. There is plenty to drink (water, juice, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, etc.)
3. The cabins are very small and tight. There really isn't much room. Its basically one room that contains a couple beds with pull out beds and then a tiny bathroom. But then again it really doesn't matter because the only time you will really spend in your cabin is at night when you are going to sleep. So I would pick the cheapest one.
4. I would try to get a room as close to the top of the boat as possible. Because if you get a room at the bottom of the boat you are going to be either walking up a ton of stairs or waisting your time in slow overcrowded elevators.
5. I went on noth of these cruises. The one that goes to ensenada and cabo is fun but the one that stays in cabo for two days is even more fun. Honestly, there really isn't much to do in ensanada except shop for cheap crap and walk around and do nothing. Ensenada is a bit sketchy too. You have to be careful. Its pretty dirty too. I don't think the kids would enjoy it as much as cabo. In Cabo, you have amazing beaches with warm water and there are so many things you can do in cabo (surfing, snorkeling, boat tours, jet skiing, parasailing, etc) You would have plenty more fun in Cabo than ensenada. But other than that, both cruises are the same. Same boat and activities, just different locations.
6. You are realy going to have a blast. The elations cruises are so much fun! I have always had a great experience on these cruises. You meet tons of cool people and there is always stuff to do. The staff is great and friendly and its just alot of fun! I suggest you look at your itinerary that you get every day in your room because it tells you all the activities and fun things going on throughout the day. And as dorky as some of the activities sound, just do them! you won't regret it! (karaeoke, scavenger hunts, water balloon toss, dancing, etc.) Oh, and the shows are really great too(;

Hope you and your family has an amazing time! If you have any other questions just let me know(:

Is Carnival Cruise doing the right thing with Elation?

Realizing what a waste of time and fuel it is to travel 777 miles one way to Cabo San Lucas from San Diego for less than 8 hours shore time, Carnival is discontinuing it. Starting in February, it's either San Diego to Ensenda and return or San Diego/Catalina/Ensenada and return. Are they making a mistake and why?

Answer :
Cruise lines do not change their routes and itineraries without very careful costing and profit examination. Perhaps the port charges have changed or they have calculated that there is more financial return in changing the route.
The line has to have passengers spending money on their ships and have probably decided that the passenger market is no longer there for that route, hence the change.

Answer :
maybe they are not making the kind of money they want to considering the fuel prices and such.
have a nice day

Carnival elation june 5th to cabo san lucas from san diego?

hi, everyone, I am going on a cruise with my 50-something year old mom and my 27 year old sister (I am 25) from June 5th to June 9th to Cabo San Lucas on the ship Carnival Elation. We are flying into San Diego at 8 on the morning of the 5th. I know they don't let u board until 1pm so I am wondering is there anything to do in San Diego thats around where the cruise ship is that might be fun for me and my family? Also what is there to do in Cabo that might be fun for all of us ? I want to do something that is enjoyable for all three of us. Is there any flea markets around the tourist area that we might go to ? and what about on the boat ? what activities do u guys recommend ? this is my family's first cruise so i want to get all the necessary information before we head out. Is there any forms or things that I should prepared before we leave ? What about formal nights ? Which food is best on board ? Any info would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks !!

Answer :
I took that same cruise in early April. In San Diego, Seaport Village is just down the street from the cruise ship terminal. It's a collection of shops and restaurants on the harbor where you can wander around for an hour or two. The probably won't have any live music on a weekday morning, however.

We spent our time in Cabo San Lucas on a jetski, which your Mom may not enjoy. You have to take a small boat from the cruise ship to the marina; once there you'll be bombarded by vendors selling all kinds of shore excursions. The glass bottom boats seem to be particularly popular. They will take you to the arch formation ("El Arco") at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula. Walking away from the marina there are lots of street vendors. Medano Beach is a nice destination.

On board, there are lots of things going on, so it's hard to recommend anything in particular without knowing what you like. I enjoyed the running track on the very top deck of the ship, where you get a 360 degree view of the ocean. As far as dining, the dinners in the main dining rooms (Inspiration & Imagination) had the best food. The lobster dinner one night was excellent. We were fortunate to be assigned seating with a very nice family that we had a lot in common with. I could imagine not enjoying the dinners as much if we had drawn some other dinner companions. Since Carnival is not big on formality, I'd estimate about half the diners dressed up for the one formal night. By the way, you can always have dinner at the buffet if you don't want to go to the main dining rooms.

Answer :
you really need to visit Carnivals website and review your documents. there are forms you need to do before you go. I am a travel consultant and do them for my clients and brief them on what to expect (especially first timers) but it doesn't seem you used a travel agent. There is too much info to answer here. Check out their site and especially the before you cruise section.

Answer :
Old Town in SD is fun and close to the harbor.

I sailed Elation last May to Cabo and La Paz. Cabo is a nice village with lots of quaint shops to stroll through, maybe have lunch and a drink at Cabo Wabo Cantina.

The ship itself has all the usual cruise activities so you wont be bored. Be sure to check in online beforehand and get your boarding passes.

Answer :
Hi, my wife and I are going on our first cruise in just four days, and we have been giddy about it for months.
I agree with the man who advised you to go to the site called (cuise/critic.com ) It's really fun, I even started my own thread, and several people wrote back and we are all having a ball with it. It's easy..the home page is where you start.. Scroll down until you see ( ports of call ) and find Carnival and click on it. Then pick your ship, and click on it.. Then just read what people are saying and don't be affraid to join in and have some fun...Have a great cruise...You'll love cruise/critic...

Answer :
For answers to your questions about the cruise itself, try CruiseCritic.com. Click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then "Ports of Call" and "Carnival Cruise Lines". You might also want to check "West Coast Departures" for comments about the port area and what's nearby. Also check out "First Time Cruisers".

They say you board beginning at 1:00, but you can often board before that and begin exploring the ship [you won't be able to get to your rooms until about 1:30, however]. If you want to explore around the port area, see if you can check your bags at the ship so you don't have to lug them around. Be sure you have things you'll want first thing [swimsuit, sunblock, etc] in a carry-on bag.

Carnival elation cruise rooms...?

im going on a cruise soon
and im wondering what the room will be like
its CARNIVAL ELATION CRUISE
and INTERIOR ROOM no veiw/balcony/suite
can anyone give me a picture of
this type of room from this exact ship please
oh ya the rrom is for 4 people

Answer :
The room will be 186sq ft. It will have a double bed and 2 bunk beds. There will be a little vanity area, night tables, an extra chair or 2, a closet and a bathroom.

Answer :
For pictures and the most accurate information, go to carnival.com and look up carnival elation.

The website also has maps of the ship as well as highlights and information about what is offered.

I don't know about that particular ship, but normally standard rooms are very small and only fit two people, unless you request bunk beds or pullouts, which could make it more crowded.

Contact the cruiseline to see if 4 people would be able to fit in that room.

Answer :
The rooms can vary a little depending on the category, deck, and location on the deck. While they will specify a number of square feet, some can be slightly more rectangular or square, depending....

Here is a link to a site with pictures posted: http://www.bajagay.com/viewforum.php?f=4…

I sailed on the Elation last year in an Upper Deck interior cabin and thought it was very adequate! We had a lot of fun, and I actually think our cabin looked and felt much larger than these photos depict.

Your room could be different... this is the best I could find for you.

Bon Voyage... you will be having so much fun, the room is just a place to sleep and get ready for more activities!

Thoughts and Opinions On Carnival Elation?

Did you enjoy the cruise.
What was the decor and ship like
How was the food
etc

Is there anything entertaining to do?
What does the ship have to do?
How is the food?
etc.

Answer :
We were on the Elation on our very first cruise. Compared to cruise ships since. The Elation had a very fancy Grand Atrium. Also, the main dining room was very classy. The Elation has very few balcony rooms. Also, the Lido Deck isn't as elegant as many of the newer ships. Overall, there is nothing wrong with the Elation.
Oh, after sailing on the Elation, you can brag to all your friends that you have had breakfast at Tiffany's!!!

Answer :
Here is cruisecritic.com's review of Elation there are 368 reviews so that should help

Who was on Carnival Elation?

I went on October 9th-12th! To me, it seemed like there really weren't that many people on the boat. So im just wondering, did you go on the Carnival Elation on October 9th?

I know it's a silly question. :P

Answer :
Not silly at all. There are so many places to be on the ship that it never seems crowded. Also it was school time, the economy and the excess of cabins all impact cruising.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

What kinds of stores do they have in the Carnival Elation Ship's mall.?

Plz name all you can remember!

Answer :
They're "ship shops", very few and very small, and very expensive. Although they sometimes have "sales" that can be good deals, especially toward the end of the cruise. Not a good place to get toiletry items, for example, though - do that in port.

Answer :
I suggest you don't buy anything in the shops wait until you get to your port of call. shops may be tax free but items are expensive like $15 for a digital watch on the ship VS like $10 for one in Wal Mart expensive

Answer :
just go to carnival.com
they can give you more info on the Elation

good luck

Carnival elation or carnival paraise?

I am thinking of going on a baja mexico cruise and I am looking at carnival elations 5 day stoping at cabo san lucas and ensanada and carnival paradise 4 day to catialin island and ensanda which ports are better and warm cllimate also which ship is better thanks

Answer :
Since both ships go to Ensenada, the only difference in the ports is Cabo vs. Catalina Island. If you are looking for warm, Cabo is much warmer (being that it is about 800 miles south of Catalina Island).

The two ships are sisters and are the last two Fantasy class ships built (both in 1998). Other than the interior decor and the names given to the public rooms, both ships are the same.

Answer :
Elation is the better deal. If you havent been to Cabo yet, it is DEF. woth the stop-I think it is one of the best warm climate places to go, and visit at least once a year. Plus the Elation is a little bit nicer of a ship!

Answer :
I have been on the Elation. It is a very nice ship.
Oh, the Lido deck restaurant on the Elation is called Tiffanay's and, yes, that is where you have breakfast!!!
Bon Voyage!!!

Yes, they sell duty free cigarettes on the cruise. Depending on what brand you smoke - you should be able to buy on the ship. They have the most popular, Marlboro, Winston, etc.

Answer :
Bring them with you unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for them.

Answer :
Hi I have been on cruise with Carnival Holiday from Mobile to Cozumel last March and there are no problems you can buy all the cigarettes you want and you can also smoke while you play in the Casinò
excusme for the mistakes but I am not American bye

Answer :
Yes, the gift shop has them and you can smoke them in designated areas on the ship. You may also bring back up to one carton of cigarettes per person over 18 without paying customs duty.

Have You Ever Been On The Carnival Elation from San Diego to Cabo + Ensenada?`?

Just wondering what you thought of the cruise. Any tips etc. It is my first cruise and I am leaving next week. Cant wait to go have some fun!

Answer :
I've been on the Elation. You'll have a good time, with excellent service, food, and entertainment. The ship is a mid-sized one, but contains all the usual things that makes a cruise so fun.

In Ensenata I recommend the blowhole. In Cabo, it's doing to depend on what you like to do. If you want to do a van tour or a view of the fish, you can find them in port easily at better rates than the ship shore tours offer. The same for sportfishing.

Also, I suggest you try out dishes at dinner that you usually can't get at home. If you don't like it, just as for a replacement.

Enjoy

Answer :
Ensenada is a party town , get drunk do some shopping.. try para sailing in Cabo

How Much Does A Coctail Cost On Carnival Cruise Elation?

I am heading to Cabo from San Diego next month on the ship Elation (Carnival Cruise). I was wondering what the drink prices are on the ship. Is $5/drink reasonable? I usually drink Beer . . . Jack & Cokes . . or Redbull Vodkas.

Thanks . . .

Randy

Answer :
Randy,

I have been on two Carnival cruises, and I am pretty sure the drink prices are the same on each ship. I haven't cruised the Elation, but here's what I have encountered:

every time you get a drink, 15% gratuity is automatically added in to the bill, making the price jump. Also, mixed drinks are around $6 - $7. The way to drink beers though is to get what they call a "bucket". It's strange to carry around because it's literally a plastic tub with ice and 5 beers, but it will save you a lot of money! Hope this helps and have fun!

Vee

Thank you for all the great information Vee! I cant wait to get on the ship . . . I am sure I will be lugging around a bucket of beers but at least it sounds like a good way to save a few bucks!

Thanks again,

Randy

Answer :
looks like $6.00 to $7.00. remember they always add into that price a 15% gratuity.

have a good cruise

cruiseclues.com
cruisecritic.com

Answer :
Depending what you order it is usually about $5-$7 for a cocktail. Jack and Redbull Vodkas would be $7.00. Do not get the drink in the souvenir glass - they will charge you extra. Bucket of beer is the best way to go - you get one free.

Can you slow dance on carnival elation?

My wife was wondering if you can slow dance on this ship.

I know you can slow dance if you want to! What im asking is do they have venues specifically for slow dancing. Like a ballroom or something like that where you have to dress up elegantly?

Answer :
yes. there are formal dinners every night where dress codes are required (dresses, suit/ties etc.,). The food is of course free, but its that whole formal ballroom/dance setting you're asking about.

Answer :
If it's not illegal you can do it. Enjoy!

Of course you can, why couldn't you??

What are the prices for alcoholic drinks on the Carnival Elation, or just on Carnival cruise ships?

What are the prices for alcoholic drinks on the Carnival Elation, or just on Carnival cruise ships?

Answer :
Alcoholic drinks were priced, as they are anywhere, at 3-7 dollars.

Alcoholic drinks cost extra. You can buy cards on board that let you have unlimited soft drinks: on our cruise these were approximately 35 dollars for kids and 45 dollars for adults. .

Tips: Carnival automatically charges 70 dollars per person to your Sign & Sail cards to cover tips for your room steward, dining room wait staff, and a few others.

You can go to the purser’s desk and adjust this if you wish. In addition, Carnival provides an envelope at the end of the cruise to use for tipping your maitre’d.

Other tips you may provide include baggage handlers (at the terminal and elsewhere), tour guides/drivers, room service on the ship, casino dealers, taxi drivers, and others. Bring along a bunch of small bills for tips.

Answer :
I just travelled that ship a few weeks ago. I drank beer and margarita's. Buckets of 4 beers were cheaper than individuals so if you will be sitting there awhile get a bucket. The margarita's were around 8 bucks. On a 5 day cruise my husband and I charged up about $375 on drinks. That was not overdrinking, just having one anytime we wanted (about 4-5 per day each). I also noticed that certain bars had smaller/larger glasses and the price would vary accordingly.

Answer :
They usually range from $4 to $8 depending on the drink, time of day , type.

Drink of day is a little cheaper and they often have drink specils at some of the bars. Bloody Marys and Mimosa's are $3.95 before noon. Beer is bottles or cans and depends on size or if you buy a bucket (4 for 15-20)

Is The Club 02 on the Carnival Elation fun?

I am going with my best friend and we are just wondering what it is like?
What type of activities are there & how much fun is it?
How late do the activities usually last & do a lot of teens come to it?

Answer :
Club 02 is fun. My kid likes it. There are tons of activities. Below are the details!

Club O2 (ages 15-17)
From the moment they step onboard, Club O2 teens are part of a cruise experience unlike anything else. Every activity and event -- like basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, pool parties and high-energy dance parties -- has been specially created with 15-17 year-olds in mind.

Club O2 daytime activities are designed to be a little more relaxed. Teens can hang out with their friends while watching a movie, listening to the latest music, playing video games or joining karaoke jam sessions. Carnival has even set up teen-only shore excursions so young adults can enjoy the sites and sounds of beautiful ports with their peers.

Many Carnival ships feature a dedicated lounge designed just for the Club O2 program. These hot spots feature comfy seating, video monitors, a state-of-the-art dance floor and an area to enjoy Coca-Cola products and other non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

Club O2 Directors are hired and trained to spark the interest of the teens and get them involved. Each director brings their own unique style to Club O2. Their motivation and dedication to the program ensures every teen's cruise experience is unlike any they have ever had before. They are hosts, entertainers and often DJ's for the teens.

Activities for Club O2 may include:

* Board Games
* Card Games
* Music Hangs
* Theme parties
* Lido Deck Activities
* Reality Games Shows
* Trivia and scavenger hunts
* Pool Parties

Younger teens will only be allowed in the onboard disco until 10:45pm. After 11:00pm, any guests under the age of 18 must leave the disco. The Camp Carnival staff will coordinate late night activities for guests 17-years-old and younger. Activities may include a late night movie, Karaoke, "Swim Under the Stars", etc. Program activities and age groups are subject to change.

Hope I helped!

Answer :
This really depends. Crew changes serveral times a year so it really depends on if you embark on the right date. It also depends on the other kids that are on the sip. If the other kids aren't the best, you're not going to have as much of a fun time.

The facility itself:
Carnival's youth clubs are pretty cool. They are well kept- even on older ships- and there is possiblity for some really fun activities. Not only in Club 02 are there fun activities though... Around the ship, you will find fun things like minigolf and a waterslide.
I believe that Club02 ends at around 1 or 2 in the morning.

Enjoy your cruise!

Answer :
I just got back from a Carnival Cruise ship about a month ago and I went in Club 02! I was on the Carnival Lberty cruise ship, although it shouldn't make a difference according to what ship you are on. I went with my cousin the first night, it really helps to have someone there at the start! You are lucky to be going with your best friend! The first night we went it was awkward at the start, but after we started talking and playing a few games we got unbeleivably close. There was dances every night, usually ending around 1 in the morning, but the night wasn't over yet! People would be out sometimes until 6 in the morning. During the day, there would be scavenger hunts and such but usually we just went off on our own. There was about 7 of us at the start who were really close, but then as the week went on more and more teens started showing up and we had a giant group picture by the end of the week. It was kind of amazing how many more people joined, it was great though! I would HIGHLY reccommend joining, that vacation was the best one I've ever been on, haha! Here are some examples of the rooms they have you in. They are very sleek and modern, as you can see!

What are good ocean view rooms to get on the Carnival Elation boat?

The cruise is for Cabo, in Mexico.

Answer :
mid ship and back of ship... don't get the first few cabins in the bow of the ship. they are port hole windows. If you call a PVP. they will tell you what a good cabin for you would be based on what you tell them.

Has anyone been on the carnival elation recently?

I am going on a spring break cruise at the end of march i have been on many cruise's before but just never this one i was just wondering if the renovations that were recently done to the boat made it any better?

Answer :
I just got back on Sunday from the Elation, and it was FANTASTIC!!! We cruised to Grand Turk, Half-Moon Cay, and Nassau. The ship was beautiful, you cant miss the Atrium as soon as you get on the ship, look up. You wont believe it!!! The waterslide on the Lido Deck is big enough for big kids!! The ports of call were amazing, I could quite possibly want to stay in Half-Moon Cay forever!! Be sure to parasail if you get the chance, only $79 and worth every penny!! Make sure to go to the Shore Excursions talk by the Cruise Director, ours was Stuart, if you get the same guy, your gonna love him!! Also make sure to check out the R-rated comics. Have a great cruise, Im already saving for the next one!!

Answer :
I went last March and it was awesome. Since then I know they have added mini-golf up by the walking track. You can check out reviews (both professional and travelers) at cruisecritic.com. This website is the most comprehensive cruise information website I have found, and the members on the boards there are most helpful in answering any questions and/or posting pictures of food, ships, excursions, etc. Have fun! The Elation is a beautiful ship!

Answer :
My husband and I went a few years ago, out of Galveston. We had a wonderful time. Good food, nice people, great ship, great excursions. Have fun, my dear!! I'm ready to cruise again.

Has anyone cruised on the Carnival Elation?

My friend & I are going to Freeport and Nassau in February, on the Elation. I've looked at reviews online, but it always helps to hear more experiences! Any extra charges (besides those for drinks) that I should watch out for? Any beach recommendations (we're planning to do our own thing, instead of booking shore excursions)? Is it pretty cheap to get around? Do the beaches have souvenir stands, or do you have to go to the market? Sorry about all the questions - it's hard being curious, nervous, and excited all at the same time! Thanks for any replies! :)

Answer :
The Elation is one of 8 - yes 8 - identical ships that Carnival built in the mid 1990s. Her sister ships are the Ecstacy, Fantasy, Sensation, Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration, Elation and Paradise. They are all in the mid-to-large category at 70,000+ tons and carrying 2000+ passengers. Although they all have absolutely identical deck plans, the interior decor varies from ship to ship. However, if you've been on one of them, you'll feel like you know all of them well and are at home on any of them.

I took my whole family on the Imagination last year - 8 cabins - it was their yearly presents all rolled-up into one. We went out of Tampa for 5 nights and had a great cruise.

The Imagination was very well taken care of - nothing seemed to be wearing out or in need of replacement. She only has about 20 cabins with balconys, and those are only in the suites, but even with her age, we found nothing lacking. The buffet gets crowded, but other than that I had no complaints. The food was OK - not great. The entertainment was the best of any ship I have been on - and we cruise at least twice a year, so that's a big endorsement. The bars and night clubs were a lot of fun - especially those on the Promenade Deck.

Your options for Nassau and Freeport are almost endless - there are about 60 shore excursions that are offered by Carnival - I have copied the links for you, below. In Nassau, many people like to just stroll the main shopping area downtown along the waterfront for some excellent bargans - I like "negotiating" with the shop owner. Lots of fun.

By the way, you may not know that Carnival has the largest standard cabins of any cruise line - 185 sq. ft. compared to 155 - 175 on others.

Carnival delivered what it promised and we enjoyed our cruise, and I hope you do too!

Bon voyage!

What is the alcohol policy for Carnival Elation?

I am 21+ and I want to bring some alcohol on board. Do I have to put it in my luggage or can I carry it with me? Does it have to be only wine/champagne or can I bring hard liquor as well?

Answer :
Ok while the others are right as far as the policy, they don't care. I almost always put a fifth in my luggage. They never check. My last cruise I carried on my bag. I had 5 bottles of Champagne and was looking for a maitre d or someone to turn it in to--no one. They scan your carry on and don't say a word. They are looking for safety violations--guns, bombs, etc. They don't care about liquor.

While I've carried it repeatedly, I've never used it. Drinks are so cheap on Carnival and so much better than just adding vodka to your soda that I buy all of them anyway. On Carnival, a souvenir glass is about $7. For the rest of the cruise if you carry that glass around you get refills for about $5.50. You can get the drink of the day at that discounted price any day. It doesn't have to be Monday's Drink of the Day on Monday. You can get Monday's any day of the week. I budget about $200 for alcohol for a 7 day.

HOWEVER Kevin was wrong about the ports of call. They expect you to bring on liquor there and as soon as you board there is a liquor table. You go and turn in your liquor, sign in with your name and make the box or bag. They return it the last night usually fairly early. So if you want (and when I was 21 I did), you can stay up all night as you sail back into Miami. Take your bottle. Fill up a water bottle with orange juice and buy about 12 sodas before the bars close. Sit out on the deck drinking all night. The Miami skyline with dawn just breaking is gorgeous.

Answer :
According to the carnival website: "Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests 21 years of age and older only may bring one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise."

So, no - no hard liquor unless you want to put it in water bottles. It can't be very much alcohol too. And you carry it with you as it will be checked before you board.

Answer :
im not sure about bringing alcohol WITH you, however i do know that you are allowed to buy liquor at the destination ports, and you are allowed to bring it back onto the boat with you

there is a limit on how much you are allowed to bring on board

however, since you can buy booze offshore and bring it one the boat, i see no reason why you wouldn't be allowed to bring alcohol with you when you originally board

remember its not like they check your bags or anything - it ain't no airport- so i would bring it regardless, because you are NOT going to get caught

thats a good idea too, booze on board is expensive

Answer :
What alcohol do you think they won't be carrying on board? Suppose you do bring the alcohol and just for the heck of it, they scan your luggage and find it and then they confiscate it? Because they can and they will.

You're going on a cruise to have a good time. Budget your money so you don't have to buy it. What's the purpose of bringing all your own drinks on board....what's next? Bringing all your meals too?

Answer :
I don't think they allow it, I think carnival only allows water bottles and a few sodas on board with you.
Go to www.carnival.com and look at thier policy.

Is there any free food on the Carnival Elation Cruises to Mexico? How do I sneak alcohol on the cruise?

Or do we have to dine at their restaurants every night?

Answer :
Whenever you pay for a cruise, part of your fee covers lots of food. Believe me, there is plenty of free food...and it doesn't require you always eat in the main dining rooms. While water, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and lemonade are generally free, soda and alcohol are always extra.

The Elation has at least three places to eat:
Tiffany's Bar & Grill - a buffet restaurant
Inspiration Dining Room
Imagination Dining Room

Fodor's said:
"Two formal restaurants serve open-seating breakfast and lunch; dinner is served in four assigned evening seatings. The Lido restaurant serves buffet breakfast and lunch as well as pizza and serve-yourself ice cream; it's transformed nightly into the Seaview Bistro, a casual dinner alternative. Each ship has a patisserie and sushi bar. Room service is always available."

You should really check out the Carnival website: http://www.carnival.com/onboardexp_home.…

or this website: http://carnivalelation.com/

As for the alcohol question, start looking here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthrea…

I love the cruisecritic.com message boards. It is a fantastic resource for finding out opinions about a cruise, excursions to take, and almost any cruise question you can think of.

Answer :
Food comes with your purchased cruise - and lots of it, different locations and styles.

For sneaking alcohol onboard, here is the Carnival policy on that:
A liquor and beverage consumption policy was created in order for Carnival to be able to control the liquor consumption of minors and the quantities consumed that lead to the disruptive behavior of others on board.

Liquor and Beverage Policy

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests 21 years of age and older only may bring one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the main dining room; $14 corkage fee per bottle in the Supper Club. Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages. All prohibited alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation.

Large cooler restrictions:

Carnival Cruise Lines does not allow guests to bring large coolers on board its ships. However for purposes of housing small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage. Screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process. Therefore, large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage.

Ports-of-Call

Alcoholic beverages of any kind purchased in any Port-of-Call will be confiscated at the gangway, stored on board and retained by Carnival until the end of the voyage.

Gift Shops On Board

Alcoholic beverages of any kind purchased in the ship's gift shop will be stored on board and be retained by Carnival until the end of the voyage.

Who has traveled on the Carnival Elation to Baja Cali?

My finance and I are going on a cruise next week, on Carnival Elation to Cabo and Ensenada and I was just wanting to know if anyone out there had been on that cruise, and what you thought of it? Mainly the ship part, how was the food? How was the entertainment? ect
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Answer :
i have taken that trip twice , nice ship and great entertainment .. the food is really good, make sure to eat in the dinning room as much as you can, as it is a real experience as well as the food. the shows are great but get there early for the best seats. stay away from the "inch of gold " the stuff doesn't hold up.. cabo is a great port . Ensenada is so so .. try a shore excursion to have a fun day, my friends just took the ATV's to the blow hole said it was great.. in Cabo you can do a lot of things, para sail , lands end boat ride, lay on the beach , CaboWabo ...flea market.. but be sure to ask how much before ordering anything. some friends payed $45.00 for 2 tacos and 2 drinks because they didn't ask...have fun

Has anyone recently been on the Carnival Elation?

I'm going on the 9th and wanted to know if the Elation has received its Lido deck upgrades yet? I am taking two anxious teenagers and can't seem to find out if they have the waterpark or slides. Thanks.

I was wondering if there was a waterslide and miniature golf really. These kids love both and my fingers are crossed. Thanks.

Answer :
I was Elation in early April 2008. I'm not sure if it's been upgraded, as there is 1 slide for the pool on the Lido deck, but I wouldn't call it a waterpark.

Answer :
Wow! I am going on the Carnival Elation on the ninth of June too, for the cruise to Mexico. Well I hope you and I both have lots of fun!

Has anyone been on the Carnival Elation cruise in December?

I have planned a cruise for New Years on the Carnival Elation, leaving out of San Diego. I was wondering if anyone has been on this cruise, or any other ship in the Pacific in December. I'm a little concerned about the waves being rough, and sea sickness.

Answer :
cruise in jan all the time and only once were the seas rough enough to feel them . the Elation is a pretty smooth ship and that is a nice cruise have fun

Answer :
I've never been on the Elation, but I went on the Carnival Ecstasy last December. I think it's the perfect time to go on a cruise. The cruise ships are so huge they can easily conquer over any waves, bring Dramamine if you are prone to sea sickness and you will be fine. Have fun!!

Answer :
take dramamine if you are prone to get seasick. the cruises on the west coast are pretty nice, the ships have stabilizers so you can barely feel the ocean being rough.

Is it safe to go on a cruise to Mexico on Carnival Elation?

I want to go this summer but I'm scared of the flu outbreak/drug war. I've been on the Carnival Paradise to Ensenada a couple years ago and the experience was pleasant. I really enjoyed the customer service. I was wondering how is the service at Carnival Elation and what is the alcohol policy?

Answer :
As far as flu goes, you would take the same precautions you always do in winter to protect yourself from the flu. Wash your hands. Use the hand sanitizer stations when you get back on board. Wash your hands before you eat. The normal rules that you follow if you work in a large place of business. There are roughly 3,000 people on the ship with you which is a limited area.

The alcohol policy is the same on all Carnival ships. You must be 21 to drink.

What day is the captions dinner night for carnival elation?

Captains night is a special night when you dress fancy and celebrate. It is usually celebrated with a lobster dinner.
On past cruises, it was on the second night, but for the Carnival Elation, we don't know what night they will be celebrating it since this cruise is only a 5 night cruise, not a 7 night.

Answer :
The Captains/Formal night will still be on the second night of your cruise. It will be listed in your daily cruise compass.

Hope this helps & have fun! (:
